Best bases without a car
- Los Cristianos and Las Vistas: a bus stop and supermarkets within easy walking, a ferry port, and the south’s main bus links.
- Playa de las Américas: the seafront promenade, shops and restaurants are walkable.
- Puerto de la Cruz: the old town, the beaches and Lago Martiánez are walkable. Teide and the national park need a tour or a bus.
Buses
TITSA runs the island’s buses. The main lines serve the airport and the south coast. Check current routes and fares on the TITSA site, because tariffs have changed in 2026.
Metrotenerife
The tram serves the Santa Cruz and La Laguna corridor and some south-coast stops. Its stations are not close to every resort, so check the distance from your hotel.
Walking distances
Walking times from each hotel to its nearest bus stop and supermarket are computed for every mapped hotel on the island. They appear on the hotel pages.
